My favorite feature of the Nimbus 23 has to be the new full-length FLYTEFOAM®Propel midsole. Full-Length FLYTEFOAM®Propel Midsole = Smoother Transitions! The upper did a great job of keeping me cool in the day time and comfortable during colder weather. So I was able to test in warmer weather during the day and colder weather at night.
I’ve been running in these for 18 miles and they aren’t showing any signs of giving out. It’s getting colder in San Diego (by our standards). It’s made of 20% recyclable materials Does it get any better? Actually, it does, because this new mesh is also more durable than before. The upper is now breathable AND sustainable. The New Upper (Made of Recyclable Materials!): While I can’t speak to the women’s TRUSSTIC™ system, I can say that support was great for me. Men and women will experience a TRUSSTIC™ system that balances them out based on the support they need. The TRUSSTIC™ system does provide extra support and is actually gender-specific. I took these on a road run right out of the box and didn’t experience any soreness because of this extra support. The extra GEL makes the shock absorption that much more effective. So, I was thrilled to find out there’s more GEL in this iteration of the Nimbus. After all, the GEL is what helps absorb shock from pounding the pavement. Here are my top four favorite things: Extra Gel in the HeelĪSICS’ GEL is what they’re known for-and for good reason, too. ASICS made great (and necessary) changes to this shoe. I’m excited about this iteration of the Nimbus. What’s Special About the ASICS Nimbus 23? Top Four Things: When you’re running more on your forefoot or you’re toeing off, you really feel that responsiveness from the midsole. That’s probably my favorite thing about this shoe. The Nimbus 23 provides great protection thanks to the GEL and foam, while still managing to be a decent weight for an everyday long-distance trainer. You would think that all the cushioning would make this feel clunky, but that wasn’t the case. The heel-to-toe transitions are incredibly smooth and help you pick up the pace. This shoe is highly cushioned but still manages to be responsive. Really well! I felt an extra pep in my step, thanks to the FLYTEFOAM®Propel in the midsole.

It’s not tight, so if you tend to experience heel slippage, I would suggest locking down the shoe more. The first thing I noticed when I tried this shoe on was that my feet felt hugged by the plushness of the collar on the shoe.
I have a normal width foot, but I can’t fit into narrow shoes. This shoe has a wide toe box, which is one of the reasons I love ASICS so much – the toe box is perfect for my foot.
